Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and is probably one of the most colorful and beautiful cities I have ever visited. Imagine cotton candy colors, sunny weather, cozy coffee shops, sweet pastry, the perfect gelato, cobblestoned streets, old school trams and stunning architecture. Lisbon is all of this – and more.
Go here to feel the warmth of the welcoming people and to dream away in the lovely surroundings. Walk the streets for hours and enjoy Portuguese cuisine for a reasonable price. Lisbon is a must-visit and is the perfect choice if you are on a budget. Anders got you covered on where to eat, but make sure not to miss out on the cool LX Factory area, the Belém Tower (when the sun sets), the viewpoint at Alfama, Jerónimos Monastery, the yellow trams, and the rooftop bars (Park Bar is a good one). The hip café Hello, Kristof is another favorite. Stop by Nannarella Gelateria for some quality gelato on the way home. And don’t leave the city without eating loads of their well-known pastry “pastel de nata”. You get the best ones at both Manteigaria and Pastéis de Belem.
